The Tassmania variety is a breeding form of a tropical plant of the Marantaceae family, intended for cultivation in indoor and greenhouse environments. The plant reaches a height of 40–60 cm and is characterized by more compact dimensions compared to the original species.
The leaves of the variety are elliptical in shape with pronounced waviness at the edges. Their upper side is colored dark green, while the underside has a wine-red or dark purple hue. Flowering is accompanied by the appearance of bright orange spike-like inflorescences on long peduncles; the flowering period lasts up to 2–3 months.
The plant is demanding in terms of maintenance conditions: it requires bright diffused light, high air humidity, and a temperature of no less than 15°C.
