The Nancy Otzen variety is an evergreen shrub reaching a height and width of 1–2 meters. The plant has soft green foliage and forms spider-like inflorescences of a cream-red shade characteristic of the genus.
The plant is frost-resistant and drought-tolerant after the rooting period is completed. It tolerates pruning well, which allows it to be used for creating hedges and borders. It prefers well-drained soils and attracts nectar-feeding birds.
Flowering of the variety occurs in the winter and spring periods. The plant is characterized as hardy and low-maintenance, suitable for solitary and group plantings, as well as for windbreak plantings.
