Variety description

The shrub reaches 1–2.5 m in height and about 2 m in width. The leaves are narrow, linear, dark green on top and gray-green on the underside. The inflorescences are dense racemes of apetalous flowers of a pink-red shade with long protruding styles.
The plant is semi-hardy and withstands temperatures down to -12°C. It is resistant to strong winds and salty sea breezes. It prefers sunny locations and well-drained lime-free soils. It is used in landscape design or as a container plant for cool rooms.
