The variety has a growing season from emergence to biological maturity of 79–85 days and reaches a height of 170–180 cm. The oil content in the seeds of this variety reaches 53%.

The plant possesses resistance to drought, powdery mildew, a number of fungal diseases and pests, as well as to a complex of broomrape races (A–E). At the same time, the variety is characterized by moderate susceptibility to Phomopsis and high susceptibility to downy mildew.

There is also a version «Бузулук СУР», which is characterized by resistance to sulfonylurea herbicides, a shorter growing season, and increased productivity.
