The Driver CL hybrid belongs to the early-maturing group with a vegetation period of 105–110 days. Plants reach a height of 150–160 cm, which ensures lodging resistance and facilitates harvesting. The variety is intended for cultivation using Clearfield technology, which allows the use of imidazolinone-based herbicides for weed control.
The plant possesses genetic resistance to powdery mildew and a number of other pathogens, and also exhibits resistance to broomrape races A-E. The oil content of the seeds is 48–51%, and the potential yield reaches 45 c/ha. Studies are also investigating the possibility of using the hybrid's heads as a component for animal feed production.
