The hybrid ES Epic is a moderately intensive type oil sunflower. The vegetation period is 104–110 days, with the period from emergence to flowering taking 66–68 days. The plant reaches a height of 165–175 cm and has a tilted head with a diameter of 20–24 cm.
The crop seeds have an oil content of 48–49% with an oleic acid content of 90–91%. The hybrid is distinguished by high initial growth vigor, lodging resistance, and tolerance to drought conditions.
The plant possesses genetic resistance to seven races of broomrape (A–G) and major diseases, including rust, verticillium wilt, phomopsis, white and charcoal rot of the stem and head. The crop is adapted for cultivation in various climatic zones.
