The hybrid was created by specialists at the Dobrudzha Agricultural Institute in Bulgaria using classical breeding methods. The hybrid development program was aimed at improving the economic traits of the seeds and increasing the oil content of the produce.
The plant possesses resistance to economically important sunflower diseases. The parent lines of the hybrid, with the exception of line 2607, exhibit resistance to broomrape races A–F. The variety has become widespread in Bulgaria and beyond.
