The hybrid was developed by breeders at the V. Ya. Yuriev Plant Production Institute. During its development, line X711V was used as a pollen fertility restorer parent line.
The plant has a height in the range of 130–150 cm and belongs to the mid-maturity group. The hybrid is characterized by its oil-seed utilization and has historically been used as a national standard in field trials.
