The hybrid was obtained as a result of breeding work involving the crossing of sunflower with wild species, in particular with Helianthus tuberosus L., to increase resistance to major pathogens and broomrape.
In a number of the institute's studies, the hybrid was used as a standard for comparative trials and occupied significant cultivated areas in Ukraine.
