The hybrid was created at the Dobrudzha Agricultural Institute as a result of crossing cultivated sunflower with wild species. It belongs to the oilseed direction of use and is characterized by potentially high seed oil content.
The main breeding achievement of the hybrid is its resistance to the parasite broomrape (Orobanche cumana Wallr.), for which specialized parental lines were used. The object is part of a series of Bulgarian hybrids aimed at the genetic improvement of the crop.
