Malysh is an annual dwarf form reaching a height of 50 to 80 cm. The plant is distinguished by its compact size and inflorescence-heads, which can have a saturated dark-red color.
The period from seedling emergence to the beginning of flowering is 65–80 days. The crop is light-loving, heat-loving, and drought-tolerant, while being sensitive to frosts. It is used primarily in group plantings and for decorating decorative walls on lawns.
