The variety was created by specialists from the National Institute for Agricultural and Food Research and Technology of Spain (INIA) and was transferred to private companies for introduction into production due to the institute's lack of its own facilities for mass seed multiplication.
A key feature of the variety is its resistance to downy mildew (Plasmopara halstedii). Detailed data on morphological traits, maturity group, as well as oil content and fatty acid composition indicators are absent in available publications.
