The Remil hybrid was developed by French breeding and became one of the first to possess resistance to the downy mildew pathogen Plasmopara halstedii. In the scientific literature of the 1970s and 1980s, it was also considered an object for the study of resistance to Sclerotinia.
Modern hybrids Rimi and Rimisol belong to the mid-early maturity group with a growing season of 105–112 days and reach a height of 140–180 cm. These plants are oilseed, intended for cultivation under a production system using imidazoline herbicides, and possess high resistance to drought, lodging, shattering, and broomrape.
