The line was developed at the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops in Novi Sad. It possesses good combining ability and is used for breeding hybrids with improved economically valuable traits, such as seed yield and oil content.
In laboratory tissue culture studies, the line demonstrated the formation of dense callus when using specific regeneration protocols, but had difficulties with shoot initiation.
