The SU Rf 49 line is intended for professional breeding programs. It acts as a male restorer line (Rf-line) and is used to produce hybrids, which are often characterized as mid-early in combination.
Under laboratory conditions, high seed germination energy has been recorded for this line. The genetic properties of the line are also used in research aimed at increasing sunflower resistance to biotic and abiotic stress factors.
