The first-generation hybrid Sumatra is intended for oil production. It is optimized for cultivation using Express (HTS) technology, which provides resistance to tribenuron-methyl-based herbicides. The vegetation period ranges from 100 to 120 days with a moderately intensive type of adaptability.
The plant reaches a height of 150–180 cm and has a compact habitus. The head is characterized by a thin disk ensuring rapid moisture release and a semi-vertical position. Seeds contain 50–52% oil; yield potential is 3.7–4.4 t/ha.
The hybrid possesses genetic resistance to broomrape (races A-G) and high tolerance to downy mildew. It is distinguished by drought tolerance and stability under various conditions. The recommended planting density varies from 45 to 55 thousand plants per hectare depending on the moisture level.
