The line was obtained by pedigree selection based on the crossing of three lines: T9819QG, U9826LG and VK816G. It is intended for breeding work to develop hybrids adapted for cultivation in the Northern Plains regions of the USA, as well as in Central, Eastern and Western Europe.
The plant is homozygous for the single-headed trait; the hypocotyl lacks anthocyanin coloration. The head has a convex shape and a nodding position relative to the stem.
The seeds are narrow-ovate in shape; the pericarp color is striped black with a white middle layer and grey stripes on the edges and sides. This line is genetic material and is not intended for commercial sowing.
