Sowing dates influence the development of the hybrid: early dates accelerate the onset of emergence, flowering, and maturity stages, while late dates delay them. Changing the sowing date affects the head diameter, the number of seeds in it, and the percentage of large seeds.
Under desert climate conditions, stalk lodging of the hybrid is associated with stalk weevil infestation, which manifests more strongly with early sowing dates. Research shows that sowing dates do not have a significant influence on the oil percentage in the seeds.
