VL-A-8 is an inbred breeding line used exclusively for creating sunflower hybrids, not for commercial cultivation.
The line is characterized by resistance to charcoal rot (Macrophomina phaseolina) and phomopsis (Phomopsis helianthi). It also possesses tolerance to sulfonylurea group herbicides, in particular to tribenuron-methyl.
