The variety is classified as malting barley. During trials, it demonstrated grain yield at the level of the standards of that period. The plants are characterized by a low propensity for lodging, stem breakage, and ear breakage when left standing in the field past maturity.
The variety possesses resistance to cereal cyst nematodes (races 1 and 2). It is characterized by low susceptibility to powdery mildew and leaf spot; however, with the emergence of new pathotypes of powdery mildew, susceptibility to it may increase.
