AC Albright is a six-row feed barley variety. It is characterized as a very early maturing crop, developed for cultivation in regions with a short growing season, including north-central and western Alberta and other northern territories.
The grain of the variety is distinguished by an increased test weight, high protein content and a consistently low level of β-glucans. Due to the combination of early maturity, productivity and grain quality, the variety is widely used in breeding research for hybridization and the creation of new adapted forms.
