The Hordeum vulgare variety Quartz, also known by the breeding number MH 04 AQ 015, is a spring form of the crop. The plant is characterized by morphological traits adapted for intensive agricultural technologies and was tested for resistance to diseases and lodging within the framework of European state variety trials.
In 2012, this variety was studied in the Russian Federation under the breeding number MX 05 EX 1 as a potential malting raw material. Currently, the variety is listed in the official registers of a number of European countries, including Germany, Austria, and Poland.
