The Teele variety is distinguished by a shorter stem and matures three days earlier than the Otra variety. The grain of this barley has reduced husk content and increased protein content.
In scientific research related to biotechnology, the variety demonstrated low plant regeneration potential from callus cultures compared to a number of other Estonian and Finnish varieties. In agriculture, the variety was used as an object for field trials and agronomic research.
