The Jerzy genotype is an interspecific hybrid between Cornus mas L. and Cornus officinalis Siebold & Zucc. The specimens were obtained at the Arboretum and Institute of Physiography in Bolestraszyce during breeding work and collection selection.
Scientific research on this hybrid focuses on the biochemical composition of the fruits. Analysis shows an increased content of iridoids, anthocyanins and high antioxidant activity compared to the pure species Cornus mas. Detailed agronomic characteristics of the plant are absent in the publications.
