The hybrid was developed as a rootstock for melon cultivation in greenhouses and open field. Its primary purpose is to provide resistance to soil-borne pathogens while maintaining high compatibility with the scion and marketable characteristics of melon fruits.
The plant possesses high resistance to the fungal pathogens Macrophomina phaseolina and Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. melonis race 1.2, as well as powdery mildew races 2 and 5. Furthermore, the hybrid exhibits moderate resistance to Monosporascus cannonballus.
