The variety was obtained by crossing Salvia x westerae «Petra» and Salvia guaranitica «Black & Blue». The plant reaches a height of 1 to 1.5 meters and possesses bright green serrated leaves that darken with age. The shoots are notable for their strength and resistance to lodging.
The plant is a heat-loving perennial for USDA zones 8b–12; in cold climates, it is grown as an annual or requires covering. The variety is sterile, does not produce seeds, and is propagated vegetatively via cuttings. Cut stems are suitable for use in bouquets.
Flowering is accompanied by the appearance of bicolored inflorescences. The crop is attractive to pollinating insects, particularly hummingbirds. Under cultivation conditions, it may be subject to infestation by snails and slugs.
