The leaves of the variety are characterized by strong anthocyanin coloration on the upper side of the leaf blade. The lower side of the leaf between the veins has a pronounced red color, and the venation possesses strong or very strong anthocyanin pigmentation. The leaf petiole is also distinguished by pronounced anthocyanin coloration on the upper side.

The main color of the upper side of the flower petals corresponds to shade 69C-D on the Royal Horticultural Society scale. The variety is intended for use in landscaping and floriculture, and was introduced to the market under the trade name Kokomo™ XL First Blush.
