The variety Kinai was registered as a breeding product associated with the companies InnovaPlant and Steenbek. In plant variety protection documentation, it is also mentioned as a synonym for the variety Lanai.
Specific detailed morphological characteristics of the plant are absent from open sources. Presumably, the name was used as a professional breeding code in the 1990s and was superseded by modern series of impatiens.
