The plant reaches a height of 1–1.5 meters. The leaves are light green in color and resemble acacia or robinia foliage in shape.

The flowers are gathered in racemose inflorescences, the flowering period occurs between May and September depending on conditions. The shrub is winter hardy, prefers sunny locations and well-drained soils, and is often grown in containers.
