Variety KSC1, with the full name South Korean Chestnut, is distinguished by high shoot growth vigor, the length of which reached 98.3 cm in comparative trials. The variety shows good adaptability to sandy soils and successfully accumulates dry matter in tubers when temperature conditions are met.

Under field conditions, the variety is resistant to most diseases, however, under unfavorable factors, Fusarium infection is possible. Tubers of the KSC1 variety are suitable for commercial production, and its leaves are considered a source of bioactive substances, including vitamin C, phenolic compounds, and flavonoids.
