The variety belongs to the group of Dutch irises, which are hybrids of Iris xiphium and Iris tingitana. The flower has a diameter of 13–14 cm; the primary color tone is blue, corresponding to RHS code 097A according to the UPOV classification.
In historical literature of the early 20th century, the variety was mentioned as being at risk of bulb rot, and therefore later planting dates in November were recommended. Official data on the exact maturity group and flower stalk height for this variety are missing.
