The bulbous iris variety Romano was introduced by the breeder Nijssen in 1986. Agronomic characteristics for this type are not available in the sources.

The Siberian iris variety Romano reaches a height of 66 cm and is classified as late-flowering. The coloration is characterized by purple shades: the standards are light purple, and the falls are a darker purple-violet.
