The nuts of this variety are considered relatively large, feature a thin shell and are easy to crack, with an average kernel yield of about 24%. The tree is characterized by late leafing and flowering, which reduces the risk of damage by spring frosts, and is self-fertile.

At maturity, the plant reaches 12–20 meters in height and width, in some cases up to 30 meters. The variety shows resistance to verticillium wilt, but may be affected by anthracnose. The tree's root system secretes juglone, which inhibits the growth of a number of garden crops.
