The plant is a dwarf form reaching a height of about 0.6–0.9 meters and a width of 0.9–1.5 meters. It is used in landscape design as a decorative ground cover plant.

The name Savin juniper is the common English name for the entire Juniperus sabina species, not a specific breeding variety.
