The Mount Loa variety is characterized by a more open inflorescence shape compared to a number of other Kalanchoe varieties. The plant is propagated by cuttings and belongs to the group of decorative flowering succulents intended for indoor floriculture.

In breeding practice, the variety is known as a maternal form for the development of other Kalanchoe species. The variety is an officially registered object of breeding rights.
