The variety THOR was used as a commercial flowering plant and featured in scientific works on physiology studying the influence of temperature and day length on growth and flowering.

Induction of flowering in this variety requires exposure to short days. In the course of comparative experiments, it was established that the critical number of short days for this variety is 4 weeks.
