The variety is a hybrid and not a pure species form of Lachenalia aloides. The cultivar was created as part of a breeding program for use in the international ornamental plant market.
The variety differs from other members of the genus by a longer juvenile development period during propagation. Detailed parameters for flower stalk height, number of flowers, and leaf blade dimensions were described in specialized agronomic studies.
