The Daywalt (84-48 RZ) variety belongs to the romaine type and is often classified as baby leaf. The plant forms an upright rosette of dark green, thick leaves with a slight gloss and insignificant blistering, which retain their shape.

The variety features rapid development and good field-holding ability, making it suitable for mechanical harvesting. It possesses resistance to downy mildew (races Bl:16-36EU) and lettuce aphid (Nr:0).

The leaves have a dense texture and a long shelf life after harvest. The variety is intended for professional cultivation in both open field and protected cultivation for producing small-leaf products in salad mixes.
