Belesai RZ is a red oak leaf lettuce that forms a characteristic leaf rosette. The plant has vigorous growth, with head formation occurring somewhat later than usual.
The variety is intended for cultivation in protected ground, including lightly heated greenhouses and tunnels during the cold season, possessing good tolerance to low temperatures. It is distinguished by resistance to tip burn and bolting.
It possesses high resistance to downy mildew (races Bl:29-41EU), Fusarium wilt (race Fol:4), and lettuce aphid (race Nr:0). It has intermediate resistance to Big Vein virus.
