The Firstkin variety (formerly NUN 00224) is an iceberg type lettuce. The plant forms a round, dense and compact head of intense green color, protected by wrapper leaves.
The variety possesses a high degree of uniformity and yield stability. It is characterized by a high level of resistance to downy mildew Bremia lactucae (races BI: 29–39 EU).
The variety is intended for open field cultivation and is suitable for mechanical harvesting and subsequent packing.
