Iglo is an Iceberg-type lettuce variety (Lactuca sativa L. var. capitata L.). In field trials in the early 2000s, the variety showed minimal signs of downy mildew (Bremia lactucae) infection.
In modern scientific experiments, including studies of Lettuce Big-Vein Disease, this variety is often used as a model object for laboratory and greenhouse work.
