Incanto, known by the breeding number BL 53-2, is a Batavia-type lettuce variety. The plant forms a dense, semi-open head with a rounded base. The leaves have an upright habit, their color varying from light green with red pigmentation to intensely red with a bright green heart depending on growing conditions.
The variety possesses resistance to common races of downy mildew Bremia lactucae and high resistance to bolting. The plants are characterized by good uniformity in the field. Incanto is suitable for cultivation both in the open field and in protected cultivation and can be grown year-round depending on the technology and region.
