The Irenas variety belongs to the Iceberg type. The period from transplanting to harvest is 50–55 days, in some cases reaching 60–75 days from sowing. The leaf rosette is semi-erect, reaching 30 cm in height and 40 cm in diameter.

The head is closed, dense, and round in shape. The leaves are large, rich green in color, strongly blistered, and characterized by a crispy texture. The variety is characterized by high resistance to bolting and the development of necroses.

The produce is versatile in use: it is suitable for fresh market sales, including whole heads, and for industrial processing in salad mixes.
