The variety belongs to the red Batavia-type lettuce group and is a development of the Adelita II type, distinguished from it by denser and greener leaves. Plants possess high uniformity and intense vigor.
The variety is suitable for cultivation in open field and under cover. In Northern Europe, it is recommended for spring and autumn production, while in Southern Europe it can be grown year-round. The produce is aimed at both the fresh market and industrial processing.
Lazarita possesses high resistance to lettuce downy mildew (races Bl: 29–41EU) and Fusarium wilt (race Fol: 1).
