The Mantilia variety belongs to the butterhead lettuce group. The plant carries the mo11 resistance gene, which provides protection against lettuce mosaic virus.
In field trials, the variety demonstrated high susceptibility to beet yellows virus, and therefore was used in breeding research as a control sample or parental line when crossing with tolerant varieties.
