The variety belongs to the butterhead lettuce type. In scientific literature, it is known as an object for studying seed dormancy in relation to temperature conditions, as well as for testing resistance to various races of downy mildew.
The variety is an heirloom and is not represented in modern commercial catalogs. In breeding practice, it has been used as a parent component for the development of other lettuce varieties.
