The variety belongs to the oak-leaf lettuce type. Leaves have pronounced incisions, the width of which is classified as broad. The plant possesses a bright red color due to the presence of anthocyanins.
During breeding, special attention was paid to resistance to downy mildew pathogens and lettuce mosaic virus. The variety is used as a reference sample for the calibration and description of leaf lettuce characteristics in UPOV international protocols.
