The variety «Veresen`» is a breeding form of the species Lagurus ovatus L., developed by exposing seeds of the Donetsk population to a 0.005% dimethyl sulfate solution for 18 hours. The main goal of the breeding was to create a decorative grass adapted to the soil and climatic conditions of the Donbas.
The plant is characterized by uniformity and stability of decorative traits. Like the species representatives, the variety is an annual grass with soft fluffy spike-like panicle inflorescences. It is intended for decorative use in landscaping.
