Variety description

The Almerana variety is used to restore the traditional production of flour for the dish gachas manchegas and is the basis for the protected geographical indication Harina de Almorta La Solana. The variety is intended for grain production for the food industry.
The plant demonstrates outstanding indicators of resistance to pea aphid (Acyrthosiphon pisum) infestation both in field and controlled conditions. Detailed data on maturity group, plant height, or lodging resistance indicators are absent in open publications.
