The variety is intended for cultivation as an alternative to soybean and is used in the production of animal feed, food products, and for technical purposes, including bioenergy and cosmetics. The plant is well adapted to poor and marginal soils, including acidic ones, and possesses the ability to fix nitrogen and mobilize phosphates.
A key feature is a relatively short growing season, which allows for harvesting in temperate climate conditions. The seeds contain about 45% protein and about 20% oil. Yield in open field conditions reaches over 3 t/ha, and in experimental trials under irrigation — over 6 t/ha.
